A "Career" Change...
In 2008, as a newly single parent of 3, I took a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) class. Encouraged by a friend, I hit the range, honing my skills and immersing myself in the tight-knit community of gun enthusiasts. I've found my unique niche in the world of firearm education, using my expertise to address this gap. As a retired school teacher-turned-NRA and USCCA Certified Instructor, with 20 years of enlightening K-8th grade minds and high school Spanish students in and around metro Detroit, I embarked on a new career path that combined my passion for teaching with a newfound interest.
A New Interest Was Peaked...
Soon, I was not just learning - I was competing. Competitive shooting can be an expensive sport. To offset costs, I once again tapped into my love for teaching. I became a CPL instructor, supplementing my income, and taking my gun education to the next level.
Continued to Grow...
In 2011, I became an NRA Certified Instructor, a designation that only 125,000 people hold nationwide. By 2019, I added Certified USCCA Instructor to my repertoire, joining the ranks of an elite group devoted to safe and responsible firearms usage.
Due to my high volume of positive reviews and service to over 20,000 CPL students over the last 11 years, I am also a Certified Training Counselor, which enables me to train and certify new instructors.
